How your money is used

With £2 we buy fresh bread and milk for families who come in to use the food bank.  Food bank items are canned or dried only.  We use £2 per family every Wednesday and Friday, if they need milk and bread, and we buy this at the local shop.

With a lovely surprise gift of £100 from RCCG Living Waters Parish in Wimbledon, we are organising a seaside trip with our friends in the AVANTI mental health drop-in club.

A very generous donation of £300 from Wimbledon Village Women’s Institute, ,  is this summer paying for four holiday cooking and craft sessions for local primary school children, who will have fun learning about cooking skills and healthy eating.

Corporate sponsors Goldcrest Land, , have donated £2,000 this summer and with this we have been able to organise our annual family fun day, welcoming over 300 local people and their children, run Grow, Cook and Eat sessions for older children and young people with our partners, May Project Gardens, , AND organise a special party for 40 local children to celebrate our winning the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service this year!  20 of the guest children will come from Merton’s Christian Care charity, , which was also awarded the QAVS this year.

We think we make a little money go a very long way and we are always happy to credit donors with a big fanfare it this is what they wish.

From May 2017 to May 2018 we are proud to be one of the Mayor of Merton’s two chosen charities of the year, with partners Merton Mencap. .  You can help us to raise money together by buying tickets for any of the Mayor of Merton’s events, details of which you can find here: .  Or ring the Mayor’s office on 020 8545 3517, email .
